2018 Finger Lakes Grape Price Listing
On August 15 each year, companies that purchase a certain amount of grapes in New York State must provide the list of prices they are paying for those grapes to New York's Department of Ag & Markets. For 20 years, the Finger Lakes Grape Program has requested those price lists from any winery or processor willing to share their prices with the industry, and compiled those lists into a single listing. We are grateful for these processors' willingness to share their prices over the years, and for doing so again this year.
Overall, most prices are flat or slightly down from 2017, which probably isn't a surprise given the very large crop that many wineries were crushing last year. Be aware that some varieties show a significant change in their average price between 2017 and 2018 - for example, Delaware's average price this year is $438 compared to $392 last year. The reason is not that prices from buyers for that variety have gone up (at least those we got lists from), but rather that we're missing a price that was reported last year which brought the average price down to $392. If you want to compare this year's list to last year's, you can find the 2017 listing at https://flgp.cce.cornell.edu/submission.php?id=103.
If we receive any further price lists, we will add them to the listing.
