Time

3:00 - 4:30 PM

Tim Martinson

For the past 15 years, Brock University's VineAlert program has provided Ontario growers with up-to-date bud freezing temperatures and guidance on when to deploy wind machines to prevent winter injury. ARS scientist Jason Londo's research is dissecting processes governing bud hardiness - and resulting in more accurate models to predict bud hardiness from onsite temperature data. During the Modeling and Monitoring How Grapevines Gain and Lose Cold Hardiness live webinar, Jason and Jim will discuss their research and outreach programs and how they can help Eastern growers manage and sometimes prevent winter injury.
