2017 LERGP Celebrating 25 Years Open House

We would like to open our doors to the community and surrounding areas to share what we do here at the Lake Erie Regional Grape Program at the Cornell Lake Erie Research and Extension Laboratory. LERGP is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and we hope you will be part of it. Stop in to see presentations of our current work and take a tour of the farm.
We will be having hayride tours of the farm and a free hot dog lunch!

Over the past several years, we have had a few different talks by members of the Lake Erie Regional Grape Program at our B.E.V. NY conference about their work using NDVI images and other technology to understand vineyard variability, and then using that information to improve management practices, including the incorporation of various mechanization tools.

OSHA Forklift Course

OSHA Outreach Authorized Trainer Jeff Hauser of Liftech Equipment Companies (Syracuse, NY) will be conducting a Forklift Certification Class at Treleaven on 9/28/2017 at 9 am. The class will take approximately 4 hours to complete and will be conducted using a sit down forklift truck. After completing the class, operators will receive OSHA forklift certification. EnoCert 203: Winery Safety and Sanitation

Winery Safety and Sanitation is intended for all cellar personnel. Safety and sanitation are often overlooked in winemaking courses, but are essential to the production of high quality-and more importantly, LEGAL-wines. In this digital learning course, participants will learn to identify and address safety hazards, the role of OSHA and other regulatory bodies, the principles behind a safe and effective sanitation strategy, and common areas of contamination in a winery setting.
